How To Meet The Big Moments
Hi Reader
The email lands on a Tuesday afternoon. The business partnership you've been hoping for, is now sitting in your inbox as a real conversation.
Or maybe it's the long-considered podcast guest spot that finally comes through. Or the CEO asking if you'd ever consider taking a bigger role.
Think of your big moment. The exciting opportunity that's perfectly aligned with everything you've been building toward.
And your first instinct when it arrives? Well, that's where it gets interesting.
Hesitation?
You’d think we’d be all in. After all, this is what we’ve been waiting for.
But often we hesitate and hedge. The fact it matters so much makes us shrink from it. And this isn’t only about how you craft your reply. It’s how you show up to the whole opportunity.
Watch for the tells:
- Over-preparing and over-explaining
- Softening your ask and offering downplayed options
- Convincing yourself that it’s ok whether this comes off or not.
It’s understandable you might feel a nervous twinge when the big opportunity arises. But don’t make it a self-fulfilling outcome.
Because when you hedge – even subtly – that energy can leak. The ‘just seeing how it goes’ mindset can quietly cap your impact. You start planning opt-out scenarios before you’ve even stepped in.
And we do this because it’s the same old fears showing up. Not just the worry it won’t work out, but often the subtler and unfounded fear of what success and growth might actually mean.
You made this happen
What's true here is this: You've done the work to create this moment.
You put your value into the world consistently enough that someone noticed. Someone with the exact opportunity you've been preparing for saw what you were building and thought: I want to work with that person.
They're already seeing you as ready. It's your turn to believe it, too.
The opportunity exists because of who you already are. The version of you that created this possibility doesn't need to transform into someone else to be worthy of it.
When my clients hit this moment, we name it for what it is – the edge of the impact they've been strategically working toward. And then we work on how they'll meet it – not with "fake it 'til you make it" performance, but grounded and with clarity and ownership.
Because the real risk isn't that you'll fail to deliver. It's that you'll show up as a smaller version of what's possible because you couldn't quite believe this moment was meant for you.

The first, but not the last
If your plans work out the way you hope, this won't be the last time you face this choice.
The more you stretch your vision, the more these opportunities will come.
But remember, that opportunity is there because you're ready for it. And not because you're perfect or fully certain, but because you've done the work that makes this step possible.
You've built this moment. Meet it like you'll meet the next ones.
What opportunity have you earned but not yet fully claimed?
Stay ambitious.
